Casual in Cadiz | Cadiz, Spain

The city of Cadiz is only a 45 minute drive away from us, so we often spend the afternoon walking around the old city or the beaches. Today we visited the cathedral, fortress and the city hall square. Cadiz is completely surrounded by the Atlantic (with the exception of the single road to get in and out), so there is a perfect natural fortress.

It is also known for it's unique carnavals. People from all over the world travel to see the parades, floats, costumes and to just be a part of the amazing party atmosphere. The carnavals are going on right now, and they're definitely worth a visit. To people in North America: Carnaval is the equivalent of Halloween and St Patricks day mixed together. The costumes and spirit of Halloween, mixed with perhaps even more drinking and partying than St Patricks day.

La Cuidad de Cadiz esta solo a 45 minutos en coche desde Jerez, entoces pasamos muchas tardes para caminar en la ciudad vieja o en la playa. Hoy nosotros hemos visitado la catedral, fortaleza, y la plaza del ayuntamiento. Cadiz esta completamente rodeada por el oceano atlantico (con la excepcion de una calle), entoces Cadiz es una fortaleza natural perfecta.

Tambien es conocida por los carnavales unicos. Gente de todo el mundo viaja para ver los desfiles, carrozas, trajes y ser parte del increible ambiente de las fiestas. Los carnavales se estan celebrando en este momento, y vale la pena visitarlos.
